Organize your Embellishments
Mini Embellishments
How often have you found yourself on your hands and knees
picking up those tiny brads, eyelets and beads that rolled on the floor?
Do you often spend more time than you want sifting through a box trying to
pick out several of the same color brads? It's time to get those
mini embellishments organized.
Here
is my recent, thrifty, rummage sale find. As you can see it still
has all the nails, screws, cup hooks, etc. in it. I'll remove all
those things and re-label the drawers. Now each color brad can be
put into separate drawers. My charms will be easily accessible
and eyelets and buttons will each have a separate compartment. This
terrific storage container cost $.50. What a great find!
Another great way to store your tiny embellishments is by
using a plastic organizer box that comes with dividers. This should
also have a lid that closes securely. These boxes are also useful
for medium sized embellishments since the sections can be divided to suit
your needs.
Medium - Large
Embellishments
Fishing tackle boxes are the perfect answer for storage of
medium sized embellishments. They are available new as well as used.
Garage sales are a great resource for tackle boxes. Most have seen
very little use, are still clean, and are priced to fit the thrifty
budget!
Canning jars make very economical storage containers.
They are see-through, and when lined up on a shelf above your scrapbook
nook, create a very pretty decoration for the area. Jelly jar sizes
work well for small to medium embellishments.
Quart sized canning jars can be used for storing (and
sorting) your flowers, alphabet shapes, chipboards, and acrylic shapes.
If you don't have access to resale shops, or time doesn't
permit running from one garage sale to the next, here is an embellishment
organizer that is made specifically for
storage of embellishments. There are many sizes to choose from and
they come in assorted configurations for storage of most any type of
embellishment.
A great alternative for those without a separate scrapbook
nook is a hanging embellishment organizer. What a terrific idea, at
a very thrifty price!
