Organizing your scrapbook stickers
Storing your stickers in an organized method is just as important as
organizing your paper. Do you want to spend extra time digging
through that shoe box full of assorted stickers for just the right one?
Do you know you have a doggie sticker and can't find it? Try these
simple, thrifty tips to keep your stickers organized and ready to use.
Store your stickers in
Zip bags
I am a firm believer in reuse, reduce, recycle, so
consider looking around your house for items that can be reused. Start
by gathering all your old 3-ring binders. Now, run to the kitchen
and grab that box of zipable storage bags. Got a 3 hole punch?
Then you are ready to organize those stickers.
Use the quart size zip bags for storing stickers.
The ones with the zipper tabs work the best. Using your 3-hole
punch, punch holes in the bottom of several bags and put them in a binder.
Lay out all your stickers in groups. (i.e. put all the baby
stickers in one stack, pet stickers in another stack, wedding stickers
together, etc.)
When you have them grouped the way you like, take a
permanent marker and label the zip bags with that group's name. Now,
slip all of the stickers into the zip bags, and "presto"! You have a
simple, thrifty, easy to use, easy to see, organized solution for all
those stickers, and you did it without spending extra money on fancy
storage organizers!
You can take this method one step further and use everyday
index dividers in your binders. Simply label them by categories.
A holiday category might contain stickers for Thanksgiving, Halloween, 4th
of July, Christmas or Hanukkah. A category for Sports might contain
stickers for Football, Soccer, Basketball or Hockey.
Store your stickers in a
coupon organizer
Almost
everyone has an unused coupon organizer laying around the house. Now
is the time to dig it out of the junk drawer and put it to use.
Create new labels for the sections to make organization easier.
Store your stickers in
report folders
I went to the Dollar Store and purchased several clear
plastic report folders that had flaps that snapped closed. They are
large enough to hold long sticker sheets and I can separate my stickers by
any category I choose. You can also punch holes in them to add to a
3-ring binder.
Store your stickers in a
zippered binder
As I began to carry my scrapbook supplies with me to crops
and friends homes this zippered binder was a great addition to my
portable tote. It is a 14''x 16'' oversized, zippered 3-ring
paper & sticker binder. It has pockets inside and out for templates,
idea books and misc. items. The binder includes 2 each of Standard,
Strip and 12''x12'' inserts for keeping supplies clean and organized. You also can purchase
additional inserts to meet all your size needs. This produce might
be just what you have been looking for. It sure met my needs.
